Fiesta ST; Fiesta's crazy little brother

Not sure I am buying into their story. A few weeks ago they were boasting that a US Spec ST was spotted around Detroit with a US bumper. Funny since it was a 3-door Fiesta Sport with the Ford body kit, straight from Germany. They later corrected the claims.
I do think a ST is coming, but doubt highly it will be sold here.

We'll see our own version of the ST in a couple years, nothing like the Euro version.

That's my fear as well perhaps it will be a dumbed down sedan version with the flashy trim minus the running gear and engine changes..kinda like the current US Spec MKI Focus ST.

The ST would have been more welcomed if it were a hatchback. But also five years ago America was still on that "I don't like Hatchbacks" ordeal. But the quality of the ST Focus is good since I own one.

If there's going to be an ST I'd bet money that it'll be a hatchback, even in America. Only problem is the cosmetic changes couldn't be the same as Europe's because of the different American bumpers, and the suspension mods would be different as well due to the mods made to American Fiestas to accommodate all-seasons. Engines would probably be the same though.
I think when it comes to the Focus we'll see identical sporty versions in the US and Europe, but since the Fiesta had to have all the retrofits for the US market, having the same sports variants in both markets won't be possible.
