The specs are out on the Korean model of the Accent. There is an option for a 1.6 DI engine with a 6-speed auto. If they can get that in the US, I think they'll have a performance and/or efficiency advantage over the Fiesta.

The commentators at this post, though, act as if Fiesta doesn't even exist. The Accent might raise the bar a little, but it was Fiesta that changed the game.
As with anything on the internet, commentators and posters need to be taken with a grain of salt. For that link, the site owner is Canadian, and I believe he is in Grade 11. Not to discount the age of the main person behind the blog, but that blog seems to only want to discuss Korean vehicles, and only appears to republish press releases already out there. Ultimately, it's that individual's blog so he's free to post whatever he wishes. As with some blogs, some folks have tunnel vision and don't factor in "reality" such as the competition.

Also we don't know which version of the accent/verna we will get, the one that they sell in russia called the solaris or the verna they sell in china.

And isn't the avante/elantra supposed to get the 1.6 with 140hp, if it does I doubt the smaller cheaper car will get the same engine because manufacturers usually don't do that (unless it is some sort of performance model)
