Thank you! So basically the car I'm looking at is an SE but they added Sync, Sirius, and ambient lighting.

The only other thing I see that the SE doesn't have and the SES does are 16" wheels. How big of a deal is that?

It also has a Winter package which I don't need, but that's okay.

SES also has the sport package which adds the chrome trimmings and supplemental LED parking lights

An SE with just the two packages you mentioned won't have heated seats, push button start, cruise control, the Euro spoiler, and all the little chrome accents at the bumper. Also no parking lights below the headlamps. Most of those are optional even on the SES, but keep in mind the car you tested won't have them, either.

I'm not saying it's bad though, you're describing the exact car I ordered, but with a Stick shift.

The cruise control is included in the 203a package and the heated seats are part of the Winter package.

I really wanted the pushbutton start, but I don't know if I want it bad enough to wait months for a car that has it.

You're right about the LED lights, it doesn't have them.
Can those be added aftermarket?

There are only three functional differences

I did build and price on both SE and SES. Functionally the only things you gain with an SES (not with premium upgrade added) is a powerpoint in the cargo area, floor mats for the rear footwells and the higher level audio w/sync. I could not justify spending almost 2k to get leather. with the exception of a sunroof, I ordered all the other good stuff I could get on an SE.

The premium 80W sound with 6 speakers is also included in the 203a package.
It's actually a $1200 package so it really does bring the SE up close to an SES.

And leather isn't included in the SES...you need to pay another $800 for that (I think).

I like the LED lights but my wife's comment was "Who cares? You won't get to see them when you're in the car." :) But I still think they look cool.

Edit: Oh, just so you know, X-Plan price on this is $17,709.18, down from $18,550.
The last time I paid so little for a car was 1990. :)

My mom, the ultimate never-spends-a-penny-unless-her-life-depends-on-it and cares so little about cars she drives a minivan even though all us kids are grown, now loves the ambient lights so much she's going to get them on her next Ford, too. They are not a luxury. They are the very essence of life!! Your wife will see this once she gets a look at them at night time. :)

Yeah. The car I'm looking at has the ambient lights, but not the LED exterior lights, and therefore not the chrome bezels, which I really like. Oh well, small price to pay in order to be driving a new Fiesta as early as Friday.

That's got to tick off people that pre-ordered and don't have their cars. I'd be mad.

Yes I'm ticked off, but not at you.

I'm happy for you.

11 Fiesta SE sedan, built late May. Somewhere in Mexico or Canada. Scheduled devery was June 21, now I'm told July 13.

Those can also be added later - the only thing I would say is annoying about swapping those out is that you have to paint them.
And you have to wire them for the lighting and the mirror operation because the connectors are more than likely different
