I would say roughly 50 miles. Probably less because I believe the light comes on 50 miles till empty.

Correct. The light comes on when the "Miles to E" estimates 50 miles remaining.

I once went 28 miles past 0 MTE (light on for 78 miles) and filled up with 12.108 gallons.

Keep in mind that I got 49.6 mpg and went 600.1 miles on that tank. If you get less mpg's...you will probably run out of gas sooner!

My advice is to fillup before you reach 0.

And I bet you were trying not to pee yourself every yard of those 28 miles

Someone posted that when the Miles Till Empty reaches 0 there is 1 gallon of fuel left in the tank. Anyone brave/stupid enough to try it out should post if that's true.

When I bought the car I let the first tank go until the readout said I had 23 miles till empty. I'm on my second fillup and the car currently reads 46 miles till empty. I'll fill up sometime this week.

That wouldn't surprise me. When I went to Arizona, I pulled into the gas station at 0 to E and it filled up at 10.76 gallons.
