The highly anticipated debut of Andreas Eriksson's new European Rallycross Championship mount, occurred at the first round of the 2009 Championship, held earlier this month at Lydden Hill circuit, located in Kent, here in the UK.

Erikkson lies 11th in the Division one class after one round, teething troubles with the new car as well as two gearbox failures prevented him from finishing higher, despite the problems, Eriksson still managed to win the Division 1 'C' final.

The car is powered by a turbocharged, 2-litre Duratec, developing in the region of 550bhp.

Dayum!!! Hopefully Ford reps this car as much as they do the bone-stock Fiesta. There were a whole lot of people that got into the NA Ford Focus after seeing the Focus Rally car, and I see the potential for it to happen again after seeing that.
