Does the car take 93 octane? Someone saw an agent filling up:

Is the top spec Fiesta motor tuned for 93? Would the US production version of the motor require premium fuel?

The cars we have from Germany say 92 octane or higher (which sucks since Cali only goes to 91!!!), but the US spec cars will be 87 octane.
RON vs. [RON + MON]/2

Are you sure the 92 call out on the German car isn't specifying the RON octane number? In the US we use the average of RON and MON which is lower. (91 in germany is around 87 in US)
I just use 93 octane Shell V-Power in everything I own. My SVT Focus, Mustang, and now the Fiesta all run Shell V-power. It smells yummy too. :)

I have a FocusSport tune on my Focus and it needs to run 93 octane. My Mustang has fairly high compression and advanced timing, so I use 93 in that as well. Once I get a Fiesta, and FocusSport has a tune for it, I am sure I will get it tuned to run 93 octane.

Yes. during orientation they made it VERY clear to only run premium fuel in this car. They also explained the US version will run on 87.

I am running shell V-power as well- problem is CARB just rapes California and the best we get is 91 (That is our top tier in 99% of stations).
