I reserved my Fiesta on December 9th. Placed the official order and paid a $500 deposit on the first day they accepted orders. My order was the very first submitted in my city because the dealer wanted one with a moon roof so mine was ordered before theirs. At that time they told me "12 weeks." Which by my math is early May.

So Mid-June passes and I still don't have the scheduled production date or updates that I was promised for reserving so early. I emailed the reservation center and they said my car was loaded on the rail car on June 19th but it will take three weeks to arrive. If you have ever ridden a train, you know it does not take three weeks to go 2000 miles even if they stop at every city, so it's clear they are just blowing smoke.

What happened to the VIP status updates? Did anyone get those? Did the reservation center contact you as promised to let you know which step in the process your car was at? Does anyone have a VIN, production schedule, ship date, or has anyone actually taken delivery? Where are these cars? Why don't they want to sell them? Holding back isn't making people more excited, it's making customers lose faith and feel lied to and ripped off.

There are several dealers near me that show Fiesta's in their inventory online, but when you call them they backpedal quick and say "it will be here tomorrow" but a week later, they still show inventory on the website with nothing on the lot. It seems they are getting lied to also?

I went to my dealer and they said they have taken delivery of three Fiesta's so far, and all have been picked up. Since mine was the very first order submitted in my city, I'm disappointed that there are Fiesta's driving around my neighborhood that were ordered after mine, and delivered before mine was even shipped, if it was even shipped on the date they claim.

Since I still have no production date, no schedule updates, no VIN, and no reason to believe it would take three weeks to ship a car, I am beginning to wonder if my Fiesta was even built, let alone shipped. I did the math. It takes 36 hours to build a Fiesta, and two days to deliver it, maybe four if they stop at customs. That's still less than a week.

Any suggestions on how to get an order fulfilled or how to get my deposit back? I need a car yesterday and simply can't wait another few months.

We all have been updating it with status updates on our orders. Your dealers estimate of 12 weeks was really off, as the cars did not start to ship until into June. Many of us got updates from our reservation agents, and I get constant updates from Matt. I did have a delay in getting mine scheduled because the dealer played games with the priority of my order. They put another order in front of mine, even though I ordered my car on 2/17 and the other people ordered theirs in late May. After having them adjust my priority code, my car was built a week later and shipped very quickly. There are only a handful of Fiesta's delivered in the country. Many of our cars are due this week or next week.

If your vehicle was on an express train that would be true. The reality is it has to go through customs and several train companies are involved as no one company goes everywhere. Delivery will take 2 - 3 weeks depending on where you live.

Your dealer was a true optimist. I never expected a May 1st delivery. I had hoped for a week or two early delivery. That was me. Ford never promised that. My salesman was upfront with me. He said "we will see what happens". Ford did say we would have a VIP experience. I was never made to feel less than special in any of my past new Ford car delivery experiences. So, I have no idea of what expectations to have for the Fiesta. I do think Ford could have kept us updated better once they knew we had put money down. But, again they have ALWAYS been available and helpfull when I called to inquire. So I am cool with it. This car is going to be so much fun! it will fit in nicely next to my ZX2 S/R and my old Mach 1.

You could try calling the Fiesta reseveration agents (the phone number is in the email you received after you reserved it on Dec 9) and asking them to look up your VIN. Don't expect the dealership to give you the promised VIP treatment - we customers know way more about the cars than they do at the point. The VIP treatment comes from the Fiesta reservation agents at the 1-800 number.

At my dealer, my salesman doesn't have access to the inventory tracking programs - he has to ask his inventory specialist for updates. If your dealer is the same way, it could explain why the salesman won't give you details and keeps bluffing. But when I called the Ford Fiesta reservation number, I got my VIN and an ETA of the "week of July 5".

At this point, I would think your VIN would have been generated by now, and the Fiesta Reservation agents would give it to you. It's good to have and let your dealer know you have it - that way they can't sell your car to someone off the lot when it gets there.

ETA: I was given my VIN 3 weeks before expected delivery, so getting the VIN isn't one of the last things that happens before the car comes, it's one of the first.

Given when all the posts in this thread were made, if I merged them with the Poll thread the responses to the original poster's thread will get lost and make that entire thread seem out of whack. So, I'll close this thread, and encourage everyone to post in this thread about similar issues:
