I reserved my Fiesta on December 9th. Placed the official order and paid a $500 deposit on the first day they accepted orders. My order was the very first submitted in my city because the dealer wanted one with a moon roof so mine was ordered before theirs. At that time they told me "12 weeks." Which by my math is early May.
So Mid-June passes and I still don't have the scheduled production date or updates that I was promised for reserving so early. I emailed the reservation center and they said my car was loaded on the rail car on June 19th but it will take three weeks to arrive. If you have ever ridden a train, you know it does not take three weeks to go 2000 miles even if they stop at every city, so it's clear they are just blowing smoke.
What happened to the VIP status updates? Did anyone get those? Did the reservation center contact you as promised to let you know which step in the process your car was at? Does anyone have a VIN, production schedule, ship date, or has anyone actually taken delivery? Where are these cars? Why don't they want to sell them? Holding back isn't making people more excited, it's making customers lose faith and feel lied to and ripped off.
There are several dealers near me that show Fiesta's in their inventory online, but when you call them they backpedal quick and say "it will be here tomorrow" but a week later, they still show inventory on the website with nothing on the lot. It seems they are getting lied to also?
I went to my dealer and they said they have taken delivery of three Fiesta's so far, and all have been picked up. Since mine was the very first order submitted in my city, I'm disappointed that there are Fiesta's driving around my neighborhood that were ordered after mine, and delivered before mine was even shipped, if it was even shipped on the date they claim.
Since I still have no production date, no schedule updates, no VIN, and no reason to believe it would take three weeks to ship a car, I am beginning to wonder if my Fiesta was even built, let alone shipped. I did the math. It takes 36 hours to build a Fiesta, and two days to deliver it, maybe four if they stop at customs. That's still less than a week.
Any suggestions on how to get an order fulfilled or how to get my deposit back? I need a car yesterday and simply can't wait another few months.
