Bought an absolutely mint '14 SFE a few months ago and love it. Had about 76K on it at the time, but I got a great deal. Apparently stick-shift + oddball trim = cheap, at least on an economy car when all the enthusiasts want the sporty version of it.

Anyway, last weekend I installed an induction kit to make it sound a little more fun (the K&N kit for the ST). Since then I've noticed that it's seemingly random when the turbo kicks in. Sometimes it's whooshing away on every pull, other times I don't hear it at all, even under hard acceleration. Obviously this car is about fuel efficiency rather than sportiness so I'm guessing there's some sort of higher-level logic dictating when to use the turbo, but I suppose it could also be a faulty turbo. Anyone know? I notice that all of the demo videos of induction kits from Europe have the thing whooshing and hissing when the car's parked in neutral, but I figure they're running tunes that make the turbo more active.
