Dangit, you know what really grinds my gears? The Ford people have pretty much ignored Minnesota altogether in this Fiesta business. Not one of the hundred agents are from Minnesota, none of the May ride & drive dates are here, etc. etc. I'm sure the schedule will be expanded beyond May and we'll get a ride & drive, so I shouldn't complain, but man oh man, it's irritating.

News Flash: lots of people live in the Midwest, it's not just yokels, and Minnesota isn't the same as Iowa or South Dakota.

don't feel bad, I don't even see Michigan listed. I think more events may be in the works because we talked about having one on the west side of Michigan. There are around 5 agents in Michigan, yet no ride-drive event. Perhaps more are going to be listed.

Could be worse, you could be in Alaska! I would have said Hawaii as well, but they have perfect weather all year long so nothing is bad for them. :)

Something's wrong here. They had one scheduled for Washington, DC today, so I went to check it out.

1PM-5PM
Nationals/Orioles Game
Washington, DC

I got to Nationals Park at 12:30 p.m., a half-hour before test drives were about to start. Over the next 90 minutes I circled the stadium 3 or 4 times. I also searched some surrounding blocks, including a ghetto/sketchy one. I was there well into the test-drive timeframe of 1-5 pm. I saw nothing related to Ford Fiesta:

* No Fiestas
* No one wearing Ford or Fiesta t-shirts or anything to indicate they worked for Ford.
* No table, kiosk, or banner saying there were test drives.

Now I've read that the main objective of this test drive program is to 'ambush' people who look like target customers and get them to try the cars. They are reaching out to people who wouldn't be aware of Fiesta otherwise. If that's the case why bother posting dates and places on the internet at all? In fact some of the Ride & Drive postings say things like "we'll be driving around town, watch for us!" That is completely useless information.

So now instead of posting a test drive review that would have helped spread the good word about Fiesta, I'm making this frustrated post. I'll alert the Ford team on Twitter and see if they respond.

Powershift... something definitely doesn't sound right there.

BTW, the "ambush style" events are NOT the same as the scheduled ones. They should have had a normal, stationary setup when and where they listed it.

The other events that they do without a schedule are different.

Let us know if you get word back... try @samdelag or @scottmonty
