Well who knows with a company this largeJune 2010 sounds much better then the last report I read from Ford of Mexico President, he stated that production would start September 2010. So June 2010 launch means the production would start around March 2010
Oh, you don't have to wait that long, Dodges come that way from the factory.June 2010? My Dodge will probably have reverted to scrap metal and rubber by then.
In regards to the chrome bars across the grille, unfortunately, if ford is going to follow it's own theme, it might look like a miniature version of the 2010 fusion grille. Let's hope it doesn't turn out that way.well, at least it looks like the turn signals in the mirror may be staying. Those pictures confirm that focus wheels will fit, so that another good sign. There does appear to be some sort of a chrome bar sitting between the headlights where the Ford emblem is located. I hope that is not really slated for production. If it is, then the chrome bars have to go. Otherwise, looks good.
That May to December date is not the release date, it is the length of the Fiesta Movement and the Ride/Drive events.
I like the way you think...I don't think the NA Fiesta will have the Fusion grille, but it may have something a little bit closer to the Verve sedan concept. The final Fusion design was most likely decided on years before the Fiesta was destined to come to the US. While that is not a gurantee we won't get the nasty chrome grille, it is a little more reasuring.
This weekend I met the designer of the 2010 GT500/Mustang and he said the design for the 2010 was locked in 2005. If the same holds true for the Fusion, its chrome grille was designed years before the Fiesta was slated for US consumers. With that being said, I don't think the chrome "bold moves" look will fit into "one Ford" that is currently going on. The chrome three bar grille should start to go away from the car line soon. The 2010 Taurus doesn't have it.
I can't elaborate on this too far, but there are some good things planned for the Fiesta in the next few model years. Nothing set in stone, but watch for what Ford Europe does, as it will set the stage.
