I know the manual specifically says not to tow anything but them Europeans been towing things with B segment cars forever. Anybody have a Euro manual that states how much the Fiesta can tow? I'm looking to tow my bike (422lbs) and a trailer probably weighs like 250-300lbs or so, I think 800lbs would be a safe bet, any ideas?

If the manual says not to tow then do not attempt to tow. There's a reason why, and that reason is there is no hitch designed for it yet that is US spec. Do not attempt to put on a universal hitch, that is asking for a disaster.

That's like the Yaris' US manual stating that you cannot tow while the Canadian manual stating you can tow up to 700lbs.

I saw a hitch on a black Euro Fiesta that Marc posted yesterday. I'm sure hitches will be available within a year. Just stop by one of those trailering specialty shops. We have one near by. I'm sure they are all over. I'll need a hitch for trailering bikes too so if you find out anything before I do let me know.

Comparing the North American model Fiesta to the European model is not equivalent to comparing the USA model Yaris to the Canadian. I don't know if the Canadian and USA Yaris' are physically different, but the back-bumper is indeed different on the North American and European model Fiestas. For that reason mrbirdman is correct. There isn't a hit available right now; you're advised not to attempt it.

There are more factors but I kept it watered down for you to understand. It comes down to A: the hitch there is no hitch for the US spec Fiesta. B: Wiring, do you even know if the Fiesta requires a three way to two way converter box with 12 volt power lead? I don't, and usually I'm one of the firsts to know because of installing and selling of custom made hitches for individual vehicles. If we have no information on the situation then nobody else will at this point, nobody has gotten their hands on a car to examine and test yet for such things. Hitches on B segment cars in the US are left for aftermarket manufacturers such as Valley, and Thule. Unlike in Europe where it can come from the factory direct. NA is an ENTIRELY different market than Europe. Simply put WHAT THE MANUAL says is for the intelligent reason, ignoring it will cause voiding of warranty.

Yeah, Chan, you're such a dummy! It's a good thing it was kept "watered down" or you wouldn't have understood. I know I sure appreciated it. :D It you have more questions, then we'll know for sure that you're not too smart and we will have to speak more slowly and loudly (all caps with dashes between letters) so you can "G-E-T I-T".
