Has anyone seen/done anything to cover the uncarpeted area in the back of the hatch? Especially on a white car, the painted area with two holes looks unfinished.

I'm in the process of making a sub box that will go past that point on the floor and make it flush, haha. My solution to the problem!

I thought my car was missing a part back there, but all Fiesta's are like that. The opening back there swallows anything small in the trunk, so I have to watch out for groceries falling in there. I stuffed a towel in the opening to make it better.

I can't imagine what you're talking about, I think mine is fully carpeted...

The lip on the rubber interior protection mat for the hatch is about an inch and a half tall which should keep small items from falling down into the spare wheel well.

I finally took a look at mine and it's harder to see because my car isn't white, but I can now see the unpainted rear wall and the gap at the rear of the carpeted trunk shelf. It looks like anything smaller than a couple fingers width could drop down into the spare tire well.
