Had a 2001 Holden Commodore (Australian GM Vehicle, Large RWD V6); it was heavy on fuel, hard to park and dull to drive.

Decided to buy a new light car. Test drove a Toyota Yaris and hated it. Too slow. Was going to look at VW Polo but it would have had the same problem given its power-to-weight ratio. Drove the Fiesta. Well hello! Great ride, handling and adequate performance. Did also consider the Mazda2 but had already had 2 Mazda3s in the past and had never owned a Ford. So, got the ford. Now was going to order a base MY14 but for same price dealer got me into a MY13 runout model that was mid-level.
