What kind of mods would you really like to see from the aftermarket? What are your plans for when the car hits U.S. shores? Be realistic about your goals/responses. (ex. - I am looking for mostly exterior mods/ body kits or I am mainly interested in forced induction that is reliable)

I think the vinyl they put on the cars was for more of an attention getter... BUT, the car is already enough of an attention getter! lol

It really boiled down to personal preference when it came to the vinyl. It was cool of Ford to allow the Agents to get it :p

I would prefer to see suspension upgrades... I like handling :)

A body kit like the sport Fiesta has in Europe would be on the top of my list. Follow that with a moderately priced intake and exhaust, and possibly some suspension tweaking... but I love the way it rides now...wouldn't want it to go too low and be too firm.

I have not driven one yet, but I would imagine a shorter throw shifter, urethane lower motor mount, and a set of matched performance dampers/springs. Performance exhaust would also be nice, but nothing that sounds like a kids car.

I don't know much detail about the car yet... I would love a COUPE version though!

Anyway, I'd expect it to have a naturally aspirated engine so obviously a supercharger would be great. A supercharger doesn't destroy your fuel economy much either (unless you want to mash the pedal all the time).

I guess the standard K&N high-flow air filter kit and a high-performance exhaust would suffice for now.

Cool carbon fiber hood and fenders may be good too!

after driving mine, it needs a more precise short throw shifter. The uprated EU suspension is perfect for daily driving duty, and I would doubt I would be in a hurry to change it. A little bit more aggressive exhaust note would be nice, but nothing childish with a massive pipe out the back. Two small center exiting pipes ala Mini Cooper S would be nice. The intake roar is good, and I would not install an aftermarket intake as they work poorly for all conditions. Engine tune to allow for 93 octane would also be great for the US spec cars.

Part of me says Koni Yellows, some Kumho 710's, a cat-back and ITG panel filter and call it an H-Stock car. :D

But some sort of a factory (or warrantied Ford Racing) turbo would be a nice bump in power. Quaife already makes a ATB diff for the IB5.

for daily use, the uprated EU suspension is perfect. Not too stiff for terrible US roads, but stable enough for some spirited driving. I need to get out and autocross it to learn more about the suspension.

The biggest thing the Fiesta needs is a better shifter, something shorter and with more feel. Most of the time I have a laundry list of things to change on a car, but I am starting to struggle finding things on the Fiesta. If the US car gets soft suspension, then it will need somebody (BAT?) to bring over the proper EU performance suspension. I am even starting to think a turbo is not needed because the car is great for daily use in the city. On a road course, then it is a different story.

I don't think any chance of our US dealerships offering any parts like that. The only way would be if FRPP offers them, which would be the closest thing. I am hoping that BAT Inc will offer stuff for the Fiesta from Europe, just as they have done for the Contour and Focus. They are great guys to work with.

Don't quote me on this, but I recall someone with a blue oval on their shirt telling me that Ford DOES plan to offer dealer installed performance and cosmetic parts in a similar fashion to what Scion and TRD does.

I think that is correct, but it will be offered through the FRPP catalog. Most likely be exhaust, wheels, and items like that. I don't see Ford offering a revised cylinder head, turbo, and more complex engine parts for dealer installation. It won't be anything like what EU has. I could be wrong, but that is based upon past history with FRPP.

Had an interview with Burnout Radio this weekend, and they agreed that a short-throw shifter is a must for the Fiesta.

I would like to see a carbon fiber body kit that looks like the USDM cars and/or has the looks of the euro fiesta, or possibly make the kit have the look of the Focus ST.
