I want to start out by saying my 2014 Fiesta 1.0 is awesome! In nearly every way. Except for the size! After my fifth 1000 mile round trip, the car is just too small for me. I'm 6'1" 250lbs (4% body fat) so it's VERY snug. And gets a bit uncomfortable on these trips. I'd also like some of the options for long trips that others would like........Navigation and satellite radio being the main ones.
My first choice would be a new Mustang 2.3, but I think I'll put that off a year or two just to see how things pan out reliability wise. I configured it online how I'd order it and it was right at $30k. Too much for me at this point.
I took my parents Fusion to the dealer to get an oil change. While hanging out, I checked out what they had on the lot. Tons of 14 Focus models. A new salesman came up to me and I told him I was getting an oil change and was just looking. But he said he was new and probably wouldn't get many sales on a Saturday as the veteran salespeople get the deals (I felt bad for him) so he grabbed the keys to several cars. I have to say the Focus size fits much better. And the loaded ones seemed very nice! I didn't drive anything. We just went over his sales pitch on each car. We also sat in a Fiesta Titanium. Very nice as well as I had never sat in a loaded Fiesta. But again too small. Oddly they had a 2014 Focus manual still on the lot when I was looking back in January. Ouch! The sales guy said it's a running joke they will have to give that one away!
Anyway, the Focus size wise seems perfect for me. I'm hoping the 1.0 in that heavy car isn't a dud though. I assume the 6 speed manual will help. Just waiting to see the MPG on the 2015 Focus 1.0. IF it's in the 40's, then I think I may bite. I'll be driving even more in the next year so would like something more comfortable with more features. I'm a manual guy only, so the 6 speed trans is awesome!
Anyway, sorry to ramble.........anyone else considering a 2015 Focus 1.0 w/6speed manual when they come out? Just curious.
PS. NOT 4% body fat, more like 40% haha! Just wondering who read till the end!!
